Hey All. I just wanna know whether building Link Wheels really help for SEO. I found some people says it helps again others says it doesn't. I am really confused now. Again regarding Link Wheel building some says to close the Link Wheel and others says not to close the Link Wheel so that more properties can be added later and google will not find any pattern etc. Which one is true exactly??? Please share your experience here. Thanks in advance.
For them to work well, you would need to make each part over many (6 to 9) months, and then connect them over even more months. Search engine algos are not stupid. These "set up a link wheel" services that offer to do it in 3 or 4 days are not worth the money or time [ IMHO ] ( not that you can buy or sell them on DP as it is against the rules) Your "link profile" needs to build up across different types of sites else it will not look normal.
I've always taken the view that they are too easy to detect, although some people report success with them. It's probably best not to close the wheel, but the best way to find out is to test it first on an unimportant page or a Squidoo lens for an uncompetitive phrase and see what works best for you.
Link wheels generally do still work, although Google has started to penalize them, they can still bring in results, but simply not as easily. You should look into open-wheels and other link wheel type backlinking systems.
Link wheel is just like blog ring. A spammy type SEO technique. Not recommended to use for link building.
i dont like the idea of doing this, its like tricking the SE..it might benefit you but it wont be that long
A Linkwheel is a group of promotional mini-sites with articles about aspects of our business niche that all link to your main site, and usually link to each other.
YES! They still work.. If you make them write.. Read my post here: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=1503118&page=4
