Well I'm not sure if this has really been discussed, but I thought I'd bring it up.

Do you think the order of a link's appearance on a page makes a difference in the authority it receives in the SERPS?

So for example if I had a page with 3 links,
    1. http://www.link1 .com
    2. http://www.link2 .com
    3. http://www.link3 .com
If link order mattered, then link1 would be given more weighting then link2 and link3. And link2 more weighting then link3.

Personally, I thing only Google knows, but I have noticed that if I have links in a single line, only the last link is recorded as a backlink, I have tried all sorts....

Providing the links are all the smae H tag, they should remain the same.

Link orders surely make difference but when it is one or two it doesn't make much difference but when it crosses two digits or more you will be facing some consequences.

2 digits as in the number of lines between the links?

Personally I'm not too sure on this one, there are times where it appears like weighting is given to links in the upper portion of document - they could easily measure this according to page size so the first 115 bytes being really important.
