Does link exchange really help build page rank and increase your position in google? Wouldn't google catch on to all the tricks of the trade that people use and ignore sites that use link exchange programs?
Google actually encourages to do link exchange .. But it should be done in a non profit way and relevance between 2 sites must be there And not to forget Anchor text places a important role
Link exchange schemes are against Goggle Webmaster T&Cs, so I would imagine that they have something in the algorithm that finds and discounts duplicate links. Just be carefull.
Link exchanges are outdated and a waste of time. For $20 you could buy some good one way links right here on DP and they'd have 10 times the value of a link exchange.
It works even with link exchange sections. Just comply with site relevance requirement. Don't expect miracles though. it can get your to PR 1 or 2 and that's it.
Link exchanges don't normally work, or at least don't normally work for long, especially with webmasters. Every time I've ever tried it either something has happened to my link, or the link on the other page has vanished. As for Google, they don't like it, but then, don't mind it at all on a smaller scale. Link exchange with smaller sites that are not owned by folks here on DP (or any webmaster forum really) and you'll find you have better luck (IMHO).
Link exchanges that could benefit the users of both site are useful, but not too many. It's got to seem natural to the search engine's. If your a gardening business and you link to a gardening information site then that will seem natural as your visitors may want information about gardening, and their visitors may want your services. If a gardening site exchanges a link with a car dealers then Google will wonder why you have bothered doing that.
most of my rsource told me that link exchange rarely happen i a non profit way and relevance between 2 sites
yup it really works if you are exchanging links with good quality and high traffic websites. I 'll suggest you must check out other websites alexa rank before getting into any deal.
If I asked you what the true value of links was, what would you say? Do visitors care? Most probably not.. Do you care? Only to increase search engine results and possibly build a little traffic.. Do search engines care? Yes, but for one specific reason. Google needs human eyes and reviews to work with it's algorithms in order to provide better rankings. Can Googlebots give webpages the same treatment as a human visitor? Of course not.. Links are placed by someone who thinks enough of the link destination to reference it. It is a 'mark of approval' if you like.. Google loves true links which show real human appreciation and review. High quality directory listings such as with Yahoo, references from blogs at the top of your niche and of course high-quality, related link exchanges. I suggest you take a look at this page for more info on the power of link exchanges - save me re-typing a whole lot of stuff. The point is though that Google is trying to weed out people who try and manipulate search results. Buying links isn't "keeping it real". Try and substiture "credibility" with links there... you can't "buy" credibility! And even if you could, it would be meaningless.
Link exchanges are good if they make natural sense. The best thing to do is ask yourself if you would be making this link exchange if there was no such thing as SEO.
Do you care? Only to increase search engine results and possibly build a little traffic. True links don't come from link exchanges they come from people linking on their own steam to content they find from their own efforts that they then decide they like because it has some sort of value. It's got nothing to do with you advertising a link exchange and Joe Blogs become your exchange partner. I wouldn't waste the time. Link exchanges are a pointless and wasted effort and considering that the majority of partners remove the links when your not looking it's an even bigger waste of time trying to get anywhere with them. True, and link exchanges are no more natural than paid links, and just one more way to manipulate the system. Nor is a truck load of reciprocal link exchanges. At least when I buy links they are one way on relevant sites. Google will give far more weight to a one way link than a reciprocal link and if all your links are reciprocal then say hello to the 'I just wasted a whole lot of my time' club.
Yes it is effective as long as there is relevence between the two sites and off course make sure the other site does not have 1000 different outbound links.... but overall, one way links are better
Link exchange is not a good place to advertise. You do link exchange to build links. With many links you have a chance to rank high in SE and get a PR.
maybe we should just don't bother abt the link exchange anymore win win situation won't happen easily
