link exchange can give you extra link juice if you are exchanging links with same themes site, but not powerful like one way links. And thats why i am only looking for one way links. Thanks
In terms of PR transfer the value will be the same as any one-way link. However the impact on your SERP rankings is reduced for exchanged/three way links, Google isn't stupid, they're aware when someoen is gaming the rankings as obviously as that.
Sooner or later, the SEs would be able to identify most of the link exchanges making them useless. There are many 3-way exchanges now. They would be identified too. Now we have 4-way exchanges. Before the end of this year, probably 10-way exchanges will be created.
If they are both the same pr I believe they stay the same. However, If you link out to a lower website it does lower your page rank by a fraction.
For me, it's quite simple why I do not exchange links. The site I link out to now may be a decent site. But I have no control over what that site might become in the future. For example, a friend of mine emailed me once to suggest that I check on one of my outbound links. It had previously been a link out to a quality website. But the owner must have sold that domain, and now to my shock and surprise I found my outbound link pointing to a vulgar website. I quickly deleted the outbound link. But the point is this: get enough outbound links from your site pointing "out there" and sooner or later some of those domains will be sold and you'll find yourself pointing links to porn, pharmacy, link farms, and who knows what else! So I refuse in all cases to give outbound links unless they are to website owners that I know personally and who are people of integrity.
well, if 2 sites with the same pr exchange link. you still have some or little link juice. but, the most important things is your SERP is increased ..
Real PR is updated almost in realtime, it's constantly changing. Google only exports this data to the toolbar 3-4 times each year.
Nope, incorrect, PR doesn't 'leak' If you link to a page or you link to a million pages, the PR of that page stays the same. What it does effect is the ability of that page to pass PR to other pages. A page that links to one other page passes 100% of it's available PR, a page that links to 5 pages passes 1/5th of it's available PR. The PR of a page and what it can pass is also different, a PR5 for example that links to one other page won't make that page a PR5. In the PR algoritim there is a dampning factor that ensures PR can't be passed in a constant loop.
yes it does matter alott..its great if you get more strong more PR backlink or of same PR backlink but dont do link exchange with low PR ...or they will get your benefit..
I say link exchange is good as long as they are relevant to each other. It would be like adding a domain site to a adult site. No good exchange like that. I would say it depends on the quality and the "do follow or no follow" terms on the site.
I have been SEO business for past 2 years... I stopped thinking about 1,2,3,4 and more ways of link building. It is not working anymore... Just start thinking about how to increase the popularity of the website rather than thinking about link popularity. You will find answers for you Page Rank. Why should a PR 5 or 6 or 7 website (related to your business) should link with you. They are not into social services.. right? and to get one of those links.. you have to spend days. There are several increase you website popularity.. start working on it. If you feel this post is absurd, Please ignore it. Thanks
Thanks for the discussion guys. Never even thought about three way linking before but you are right reciprocal links are worthless.
Link exchanges are not bad, they are simply not as effective as a non reciprocal link, so dont let people here put you off exchanging links. Sure they are the best thing in the world but they will help you ranking.
