I tried the blue color mentioned in that blog. My CTR for today is 6.95% EPC is $6 It's been a disaster. I'm going to swap out the link color to the original.
See my previous posts on this thread please, I mentioned the old CTR. Here's the color changes new 000080 old 064B8C I switched back to the old today.
That is no good. Hey but my CTR is really down at the moment as well, so may not reflect the color changes. I am down 50% I would say. We will be starting a Google Adsense experiment soon. You may want to have a look there a little later on to see how it compares.
Don't forget human psychology.. everybody knows a blue color is for link. so if adsence is in blue color, people know its a link and if its not.. may be they think its just another text.
it all depends on the niche - if you have a seo blog and have adsense on it , do you think the visitors will click on those ads . bcoz majority of the visitors will be knowing about adsense ads and what they actually lead to. but for example i have a celebrity blog with red color ads with a white backgroung blog template .this increased my ctr from 2-3% to above 5 % consistently !so it all depends on the niche and yeah a large amount of search engine traffic .
personally i think a blend works best - link colours same as general site... have experimented with brighter links for google ads but haven't seen any great improvements myself...
