Does anyone know if leaving a commit on a blog with your website link helps your rankings in the search engions and if so how much?I have not seen any results myself but maybe someone else has.
if done properly, blog commenting can help you in getting some backlinks and ranking. you need to find relevant blog articles and make useful comment that adds value to the blog which will increase your chance of getting approved. while blog commenting is helpful, no single link building method will help you achieve higher ranking for competitive terms. you need to utilize multiple link building methods for that. i wrote an article outlining few popular link building methods which you can take a look at here
There are many list of dofollow blogs in this forum for your blog commenting campaign. Just use the forum search box and you will be lead to the right page. I tested that already and we able to get 100 still do follow blogs. Some are no longer do follow so you need to spend time testing it
If comments are relevant to the article and matches with your site that will help increase traffic. Using Avatar will bring much better result.
Base on what I've experience it could help your site not only for ranking but also for backlinks.Make sure that your commenting on a related blogs or a seo blog site
Find dofollow blogs and leave constructive comments in them, this will help your rankings with major Search Engines. Commonly, links in blog comments section have the "nofollow" attribute by default. Meaning your link will not be counted by Google although some SEs are disregarding the "nofollow" attribute. But this should not affect your blog commenting in anyway, remember, blog comments are not just for ranking or link building, they also provide you direct traffic from webmasters and readers as well specially if you post good comments .
It depends upon the traffic of the blog you are posting... It also needs to provide a "dofollow" link back too! Blog commenting is very very time consuming and if done well you can have pure link juice with it... My simple strategy is 1. Pick a niche related blog. 2. Subscribe to the posts 3. Interact with comments regularly (do not post the links at start). 4. Gain some status in blog admin's perspective. 5. Pick the top read blog and post your link intelligently merged in the sentecne structure... This works out pretty well. As i pick only High PR and High traffic blog, gaining a singly backlink from it is certainly worth the effort...
