The only way it will help is that you may start ranking for keywords in the languages you translate to. But this won't help your rankings in your main language (though won't harm either). If you're any serious about it make sure the translation is good or at least readable. Otherwise people will just come and leave.
I assume you will need to do separated SEO for the each new page. And you will have new competitors with each language
If your targeted audience are mostly from specific (Telugu speaking ) region I think alternatively you should develop the primary site for Telugu version and add English translators for other visitors.
First thing identify your viewers or your readers,their choice. You can place google translator it will not affect ur ranking but can increase ur readers.

"Bagunara?" Adding a telegu translator wouldn't help in SEO as your original contents is in English. If you want to increase ranking in telegu, then I suggest writing contents in telegu and offer the translator to English.
it will not really increase your SEO.. but from the experience of a friend who had his site translated in 13 languages, i can tell you that you will get a few hits to the translated pages
yes it surely help bcoz no of pages increase and chances that more keyword rank when all language page are optimized.
I don't think it affects your site SEO. It would just serve as a great guide for your visitors to understand your posts in whatever language they use.
Language translator is no relations with SEO it will help your visitors not SEO, For SEO you have to do link building, it may help your keywords popularity.
I think if the tool is good enough, it is certain that it will help attract more traffic. People from different country could understand the contend on your site, which is good. However, it is hard to say whether keywords in different languages would help improve PR.
I think Google maybe pay attention to it, because it increasing user friendliness and its good for user, Google always stand on the users side.
In my view: Language translation is user friendly. It doesn't effect SEO. It helps to regional visitors a lot.
