Does Joomla have user level access?

Discussion in 'Joomla' started by rosytoes, May 18, 2006.

    I read a lot of recommendations for Joomla in this forum and was going to try it out. Before I do that, can anyone tell me whether I can setup different user level access,e.g. admin for site-wide access, user for visitors to leave comments and something in between,e.g. editor to access editorial material.

    TIA

    i am running joomla 1.0.7 and have the following choices;

    Frontend
    -registered
    -author
    -editor
    -publisher

    Backend
    -manager
    -administrator
    -super admin

    i have found joomla to be really friendly and full of options.

    you can limit comments to registered users.
    author/editor/publisher give obvious abilities.
    unfortunately without the JACL (commercial) extension you can only limit viewing to public/registered/special, special being any user type above registered.
