I have read in the forums that there are people selling their signature. Anyone thinking this as a good way to make backlinks? Or the signatures don't worth much.
It kind of depeneds, signatures can generate a bit of direct traffic from these forums, but most often people just use them as a quick way to get sites spidered by SE's, or to build back links. The cost is normally minimal, and I guess it kind of depends on the amount of posts, and activity level of a forum poster whether or not purchasing links in their signature is justified.
They can get some traffic but do not help that much for SEO or pr. Cost depends on how many posts they have and make each month.
This may be a stupid question but when you buy a signature how do you get it to drive traffic to you site instead of whee it was going
^ You put your site link in the signature of the member you "rent" from. Other members then click the link in their sig and are directed to your site.
if you are buying sig link for SEO, then you need to buy a lot of them and need to subscribe for a long period of time to gain some backlinks. buying one sig for one month will not do you any good. besides, sig link should be considered as a complement to your current link building method and not to be taken as a primary source of backlinks
Buying those l signature links will only work if you are planning to buy them for long time. It takes taht long before the search engine spiders will be able to crawl those sites.
If you are willing to put some time and effort into who you are paying, then up to a penny per post can be worth the investment. However, if you are just wanting to get spidered, then as low as half of that. Anyone willing to accept less is likely not worth the effort as their posts will be too low of quality to make any human traffic. Here are two threads which can help you figure out if the price is right: Forum Link Building tips (it's not just your signiture!) That thread is actually for the person with the sig, but look at it from a different angle and apply it to your needs as a buyer. It's a guide on how to make the most of forum postings in general and is a great resource (yeah, yeah, I wrote it). Buying sig links? Read this first! A buyers guide for sig links. It'll help you pick the best person for the best price. If you are looking to buy a sig link for something that is related to Google, then it is best to buy from someone that posts mostly in the google boards here at DP, as that is where the keywords will have the most effect with both the members (humans) and bots (SE's). If you are wanting to promote something that deals with Google and you are buying a link from someone that posts mostly in the Yahoo boards, then the link just will not hold the same power. A good poster that offers good content, is well worth a a penny per post if they are posting in your niche, and are offering good content. Buying in the long term hold more power then the short term as well, as it gives the post time to build in the SERP for human traffic, and it shows the bots that the link has staying power. So when and where possible go for at least 3 months, if not 6. Much longer then that and you run the risk of something happening to the poster. In all cases of long term sales, demand a subscription, as you can turn it off should they get banned or leave.
Nice Links, Qryztufre Thanks. And most signature links are nofollow, i think so its not that good for seo+
Signatures may not always get your site indexed, Google and Yahoo do take into account where a link is coming from. Spiders may follow the link but may not count that link as a vote for your site.
If the forum belongs to the same or related niche, then you can certainly get good amount of traffic with an attractive anchor text. Of course it also helps in getting your new site indexed quickly, especially if the link is from a popular forum like Digital Point.
Actually, most links are followed... Even the ones that are not still hold their value, as the most important aspect of the link IS human traffic, which is why it's important to by quality signatures! Humans click through nofollow links, so that holds no water in that aspect. Even the ones that are no-follow, if placed correctly can offer better results for the price when you compare them to Ad-networks (most of which are also nofollow). Q
