Same here. Alive directory got a lot of good categoryw/pagerank, some of them have lower and higher PR. Even if my link is placed on a PR4/PR5 page i would buy it just for the crawl advantage and i can brag about those links
it's a good thing to buy from these directory. But in term of traffic wise, I guess it's not much. for PR, it's a YES!
If buying from a link directory like alivedirectoy, which link should I purchase? Regular or Featured
That is for you to decide. If you want just a good link then go with regular, if you want the possiblity of getting more traffic then go with featured. The ball is in your court when it comes to this.
sorry, one more thing... I was looking at alivedirectory(dot)com/Recreation/Travel and it is PR5 for page 2 of results it shows a PR0, any reason why this would be?
This only happens when a page was not indexed in time to get the pr benifit from the other page. Or when the page is brand new and has just been added. That page should get a pr of 4 on the next update. This is the reason I do not see why people complain about being on a page that has a pr 0, if the links pointing to that pare are of high pr then the other page will get good pr as well and usally will only drop by one. Always submit with confidence to directories that are well established.
Highly recommended I remember when Chris first created that directory, now it is everywhere. I wouldn't be surprised if it reaches PR8 in the future.
Many of you are also overlooking the fact that both of those premium directories Alive & Aviva offer a details page. If you go to any listing click on "Read More". I'd say if you have a small site or even a medium-large sized one that having the "read more" page is worth paying for alone. Think about it. You search "Your Keyword Term" whats goign to come up first your little site or the somewhat optimized link on aviva / alive? You guessed it chances are your site will get found but through Alive/Aviva it will go to your details page and then they will click on your direct link. That's the best benefit I'd say. It will OBVIOUSLY also help with your PR. I'm sure many directory owners can attest alot of their traffic comes from random keywords people type in that have a relevant site listed in their directory. If they got the mod that changed the URL to the actual title of the submission it would be even better!
Hello... Alive Directory seems to get A LOT or organic searches that go to category and details pages as its been out now for a while since this thread was started. I ran a check and found a few of the many as its in most top searches like... web directory submitters as well as top 10 for web directory search and mant others as well as everytime i turn around and search for terms i use and want to target and rank high for i run into Alive directory,... So it would seem this thread is way old and outdated and truthfully Alive is one off the best directories around but what the hell you already know that... thx malcolm
This is an old thread... I don't remember if it was ranking for user searches back at that time, but it gets a lot of traffic from real user searches now. Searches like bid on airline tickets and shopping resources have been bringing in hundreds of visitors per day. A lot of others too, of course.
After doing business with Chris for the past couple of years, I consider him to be one of the savviest internet marketers going. His ideas are fresh, his sites are powerful, and he cleverly diversifies his interests. Is a link in alive directory worth it? If I was buying a directory link, The first 2 directories I would look at are Alive and Aviva. The new breed of directories that scream trust.
Is this the same chris that i know? savvy or 'slaver driver'.... hrmmmm... decisions decisions. hahaha
