Not at all. I don't think it's worth to buy a link for PR period. Now a days we don't know when a PR update is coming, not onnly that PR no longer carries the same weight as before, but also you don't know if the PR will pass to your page when your purchase the link.

There are so many factors that are involved that it's really risky to purchase a link just for PR....

If it's only for building your PR - I wouldn't recommend this. When google will detect the removal of the link in 3 months, it might assume that your site has become less relevant. It can penalize it as well.

It might be that the traffic that you'll get from this link, will lead other webmasters to link from their site to your for free. And those links and exposure will last longer.

For the short-term traffic gain, perhaps. I wouldn't assume that these webmasters know what they are doing. I'd invest in long-term (permanent!) links from blogs in your niche. They give the best boost in terms of PR.

I think you can buy the link for one month period since If you buy a link abefore a PR update and the site loses its PR just after the Update then you may lose your money on it

So it is best to buy a PR for one month and see the sites Performance and again you could decide whether to buy it or not

3 months is the minimum since Google PR Updates usually come about every 3 months, but once you get that boost in PR you better start trading links with other high PR sites to keep your PR up, or you will lose it when you stop buying the link.

I've seen some people claim that PR7 link for one month gets their site spidered and in the index. Probably once one they are in the index they don't need that link any longer.

Once they are in the index, they don't need that link to get spidered again. But if you need to rank higher in SERPS or want to get high PR (which could be meaningless) you need links pointing to you site always.

Yes, for getting into index one PR7 link for one month should be enough. For SEO, many high PR links with appropriate anchor text are needed for permanent or at least for one year.

Age matters. You can't (to my knowledge) try to buy a link for a month right before a PR update and get a boost, because the TBPR update isn't the PR at that moment, but of a cutoff date in the past (could be two months ago).

Some buy links for one month only, because they are just trying to get indexed fast and others do it, because they don't understand how things work.

If you want any benefits of the link, it must be placed over the long term.

I would actually go for links for a year if you can. If budget doesn't allow, 3 month minimum!
