Hello guys, Frankly I never come to this section of DP. And when I came, my interest grows. Okay, here is the point: I have a games site that have been done almost all kind of advertising from inbound links to pay per clicks. Now, I wonder by joining co-ops, will I benefit from it? and in what sense? toby
I have never tried co-op but my friends saying that this is the best way to publicize your site and add weight to your search engine rankings. Wait for someone else who can tell you more
It certainly works for some as there are still people renting coop space. Persaonlly I haven't had any great success with coop. I mean I have some large forums with some weight but no significant SERP changes. So what I'm trying is pointing a tiny bit of weight at different content pages. It seems like a good plan but I'm not sure it will work yet. I would hesitate to point a bunch of weight at one page. I'm certain (although other people here would say I'm wrong) that Yahoo has penalized one of my sites twice for doing just this.
I think it's very effective in both traffic/rankings. I use it a lot but it's not the only thing I use to boost my search engine rankings. Using a combo of coop + other linking methods will give you what you need.
I have seen some large sites using it and benefiting from it greatly.I'm gonna give it and shot and see how it goes...
I have tried coop but it didn't really work for me. IMO coop will only work for you if you have huge and established sites.
My site went from page 3 in serps (google result #28), to first page, #1 result! It has been #1 for 3 weeks straight and is still there. I now have changed the weight around to other keywords, and I am #2 and #3 on first page for them as well. I am hoping to be #1 for my three keywords by next month. COOP works wonders if you already have a popular site and combine it with other forms of site building. If it is the only form of link building you are using, then I doubt it will bring many results.
the only downside is the links are not permanant, i dont think google likes sites that appear in links on one site one day and a different site another.
