Does it match? Comments Please

Here's part of a template that a friend made. Personally i don't think it matches up (with the background).

What colour (Possibly hex code) / pattern do you think is appropriate to go with this. The section in the middle is part of the main content area (its a search bar in the middle of the page and that's the background for it).

Also what border colour do you think is appropriate? I would appreciate your comments

 

I think the color combination is not that bad. But I think the border color should be more darker.

 

The foreground could be a little greenish. The background should be darker, as well as textured.
