Does it affect SEO where your site is being hosted?

    i always wondered if your choice of hosting companies would affect any SEO.

    or am i just being paranoid? :)

    Well, your question is genuine...

    It can affect your site if thats a slow host or your site is not fully optimized for that.

    The main factor which i am talking about is, Page Load Time.

    Be sure to check your page load time of all dynamic pages (if you have any) multiple times. Other than that, you need not to worry much with that if you have static site.

    I've also heard that geo location matters. A canadian site will do better in google if hosted on a canadian server. Just something i've heard, not tested myself. Would be easy for google to use geo location of the servers ip to decide which search engine it belongs in (google.ca instead of google.com for example).

    I actually agree with 1EightT but i would prefer to host my domain in a server that would allow my visitors to check my site without any obstruction. It wont be down for long and if i am targetting particular location like uk then i would like to host my domain there and also look for a domain with uk extention rather than simple com extention.
