They say they submit to at least 150 directories. If thgis is true then shouldn't 1 artticle submitted build 150 backlinks. Since most article directories accept pretty much every article as long as it fits one of their categories and is of approriate length and quality, why is it that submitting one of these article only generates around15-20 backlinks. I am not even sure if they submit to all the directories they say because most of them need password access. My guess is that they only submit to their partner sites.
150 submissions will not generate 150 backlinks if you are using google to check the backlinks. Google only shows up a certain proportion of the links. If you have had an article submitted or know somebody who has you can try searching for a specific phrase from the article and see how many times its found. My clients typically get 80 articles showing up within a few weeks but obviously backlinks won't show for quite a while.
Thanks for clearing that up. I have submitted 6 or 7 articles and I know that a couple of these have been very popular by the number of times they have been downloaded from the various article distributers, but the backlinks even on MSN has not been inline with my estimation of its popularuty. Anyway, even if no one picks them up for their sites, it should still generate links from the all the article distribution (some 150 or more they say) services that they have been posted to.
If you can see your article on an article site and can verify that the links are in the article then its fair to assume that google will count the links now or at some stage in the future.
Google the phrase "Submitted with Article Distributor", and then run a link: command. I'd be hellaciously happy if I saw a 10% return on links. On the other hand, I know these links get counted. Also, MSN appears to cap the number of a links counted from one domain to another, so having 7 or 8 articles on one site will not count as 7 or 8 links on MSN. SEO is as much a faith as a profession.
