OK well a couple of months ago, just before Christmas i installed word press on Wholesale and bankrupt electronic service stock my website, and i posted two articles, one which i copied off another website (sorry) and one which i wrote myself and in the January update my sites ranking went straight upto PR2, so i'm just curious because i did no SEO work on my site, and i always see that word press websites have a high PR, which maybe down to updated content. My website had two completely different articles one about entrepreneurship and the other about gold fish credit cards, which had nothing to do with the domain name. Do you think my domain increased PR because of its Age, more than anything? I've now changed the whole concept of my website and will be developing the SEO of it over the next couple of months. thanks in advance
ah right but its just funny how my site went to PR 2, so it will jump back down if i leave it as it is, doing no SEO work
maybe many links to your wordpress blog article. you can add more article in order to get more people links and will help you to get high pr
It's not hard to get a PR2. Let me use a geeky gaming analogy. You know how when you are playing a RPG, the first couple of monsters you kill, you easily level up from 1 to 2? But to get to get up to the maximum level, you have to spend way more time and resources? PR is something like that in relative terms. Getting PR2 is easy and getting PR1 is even easier. So you can see how your site might have skipped PR1 and went straight to PR2 without requiring to much links. As for where you got your link juice from, that's the mystery there.
There's no analogy that PR rises from 1 to 2, 2 to 3......like that. Pr is calculated from the PRs of the voting pages that means the backlinks. You can get straight PR9 if you have some PR10 backlinks. Also, there's no relation between wordpress and PR.
it may also be possible if you did some social bookmarking in propeller, stumbleupon or digg... there are some of the tags for which these sites have high pr... in this way the site submitted under high pr tags will also get good pr... anyways congrats for getting PR2 with just 2 articles... --Thanks...
Wordpress has nothing to do with PR. Backlinks = Pagerank, (both external and internal links). Older domain names is better than new domain names.
