Does initial PR have anything to do with SEO

My site is just over 30 days old. It is the first site I've ever built, so I am in the dark about alot of this stuff. I show up in the serps just fine, but I have no PR yet. In my google toolbar, the PR area is gray.(I assume that means I have not been given PR yet, as opposed to a PR of zero)
Is it normal to have to wait for PR or could this be an SEO issue?

Of your site is new then you won't have a PR yet...you gotta wait for the next update to get one...meanwhile, i suggest that you work on your backlinks and try to get some really good ones from high PR sites.

your site is still new and won't have any pr yet. but, pr isn't the issue for SEO only backlinks and traffic that matters.

PR definitely matters. But, I have found that the anchor text for links is the biggest part of SEO.

Don't worry about the PR thing. If you have done your SEO correctly it should be reflected in the next PR update which should in the next 3 months. Meanwhile work on adding contents and concentrate on building backlinks.

JUst develop your backlinks and drive traffics to you website the moment. Have your links from others same niche and high pr sites. Your pr will be improved then. Patient..

Focus on link building and your PR will Increase but it cannot guarantee a high traffic though. Content will always be king and promotion is the queen. They are partners in crime.

You have a great opportunity to focus on building backlinks and creating content for the next couple of months before the next PR update. If you do this you should see quite a difference.

1month is just a very short time. Google updates it internal PR very frequently, but export it to the toolbars only once in 3 months or so. Again, there will be sandbox for first few months, making you rank lower. Just dont bother about the SERPS, PR etc. for first 3-6 months are keep on working hard.
