Ive had several .info sites that I could never get on page one of my Keyword even if the keyword was my domain name. Anyone else have this issue?
Of course they do. If you can't do it it just means your not doing it the right way. I was searching for an irc app for my mac, tried the word "colloquy" and the first result's a info domain.
tlds are nothing to with ranking. keyword helps but google is smart to rank the good site wrt content
From our research with several thousands of our users and links we have actually seen what appears to be a slight advantage to .com domains (on Google.com) just as .co.uk domains fair better at google.co.uk - but there is very little difference.
Try harder it's certainly possible to get good rankings with the .info extension. Did you consider this is because .com is the most established domain extension?
If you follow my signature, Got Hired is an INFO domain (stats/trends are posted on that thread) as it is another I have (freelanceboard) both of which are listed on Google first page. Even though these have not PR, but I have many others that do have it, and I have seen well positioned INFO including on top of the lists.
I've seen numerious .info on page one. I guess it just depends on the keyword is being targeted. What onpage seo is being done and kind of offpage backlinking stratergy your using. But .info is not at good as .com .net or .org
