Hi! Is IM is your full-time job? I’m curious.. How was it?
I'm thinking to work full-time for IM and in odesk. But afraid to do so... Because I’m afraid to the consequences.

Don't be afraid of the consequences. If you do, you are not destined to be in IM. It is a never ending learning curve , always chasing for new methods and techniques, not to mention the learning of new web based technologies. Its not all the time you discover that youve taken the right path... The only thing that will keep you going is how bad you really want to succeed in this field.

I am sure there are a lot of guys out there working full time as internet marketeers. i am one of them...sweat, tears and sacrifices...all for the sake of financial freedom and a better lifestyle...

some people work whole day with zero income while other work few hours and earn huge profit.
Time is also important but quality is more important than quantity.
If you are in right direction, you are successful.

I still work full-time in a regular day job (I like the financial security). IM is a part-time job I do when I have free time.

    Like what consequences?

I work full-time and do IM part-time. It sure eats up a lot of time. I work 70 hours a weeks doing both. You have to be committed to both if you're not ready to ditch your full-time job yet.

Why go full time. If you have commitments such as mortgage/bills/family and you have a "safe job" the best thing to do is start off in your spare time. You need to make sure you know what you are doing first.

If you have no commitments then spend every waking minute working.

If you do this there is no need to be afraid.

Well, I am currently, since around 3 years working as IM and nothing else.
I cannot boast with some great income as I initially started with nothing, but I manage to live somehow good. Plus I do not work full time (well maybe sometimes), but I do have my time-freedom and overall freedom, something which is very important for me!

However, if you are just getting started you cannot expect some blitz results instantly, so maybe for the first 6-12 months it would good if you have other job, unless you can afford this time without any income. I couldn't, so I did worked as IM (freelance) for some other sites/companies and when I decided that I earn enough and should spend more time on my own projects I just quit and started doing it all on my own.

Again, in a row, what consequences are you afraid of? Nothing to be afraid of, you'll just have to stay up-to date with the things - something which is pleasant for me personally :)

I wouldn't recommend doing IM full time unless your extremely competent.

Revenue in a job is secure and pays bills revenue from IM isn't constant and can change in a heart beat.

You will need to be making $400+ each day to start thinking about quitting your day job due to that figure easily being able to go down by 50% over 2 months.
