I have been making designs for my clients for almost a year now, every time i do a cheap service i always wanted to at least help my site get some traffic from that particular client. So what i do is create a javascript which has an iframe that displays a html file on there site. I'll explain a bit more. 1) I use javascript that displays an iframe like document.write "<iframe src="blah.html"></frame>" something like that, i chose javascript so i can easily just edit the file and all the sites that has this code will automatically update. 2) Now that blah.html has the text or the footer which is "designed by: <a href="http://mysite.com" alt="web design">Web design</a>" i hope im making sense im not at good on explanation, lol anyway what i wanted is to boost alexa traffic rank only site so does it mean that the site where i displayed an iframe of my site will also give me a traffic? geez hard to explain. hope someone can make it clearer.
The traffic boost depends on whether or not Alexa toolbar counts pages opened in iframe. Not sure if they do. However, the purpose of this boost is not clear to me. You won't get any real value from this, unless you want to impress your potential investors (if they are silly enough to be impressed by Alexa). Also, I would never deal with a webmaster that leaves such code on my website. That's unprofessional.
Have you heard of iFrame malware? Iframe tag prevents spiders from thoroughly crawling your site...Now it depends on whether you want the page of your site to be indexed or go for a silly Alexa boost!
@brother_of_devil's Sir can you just be a little considerate? i am indeed a professional webmaster and i dont play such tricks with my clients the reason why i wanted to do this is because i offer very cheap web design and customization and also before doing this my clients agree to the terms and asked for a permission pls. dont assume unless you know whats the truth behind it, thanks. to all thanks for your replies well yeah i think i'll just have to remove iframe but how can i gain traffic from them maybe a simple backlink since im allowed to add links to their footer but i dont know if search engines bot count backlinks written on javascript counted as one, cause if its not gonna count the backlinks well too late for me i cant access any of my clients website anymore its against my own company's tos. geez!
You were not clear at that, sorry my bad. Anyway, a plain-text backlink would work much better. Footer links don't give much value, especially if they are from a non-related website, though this is still better than nothing. And definitely better than the useless Alexa boost.
@brother_of_devil no problem at all anyway just found a way to prevent search engine to index that certain file which has the footer links i am just really trying to boost my alexa rank but of course without the risk of getting banned from google or any search engines. thanks guys
Google Adsense uses iframes, youtube now uses iframes to embed video in websites, scripts like HighSlide supports iframes. Why should google considers iframes as spamming!
