I heard many people talking about pigeon and hummingbird effects on SEO. I am working in this field from last 4 years and i have never seen any bad effect of these two updates. I think only penguine and panda is effective. I have read many topics about these two updates but not clear. Anyone who has better understanding about search engine algorithms and who has been working in SEO field.
Google Humming Bird is Complete google algorithm update. panda, penguin everything else is the part of humming bird. lot of the sites are affected after humming bird update. but it doesn't mean your site is affected due to penguin and panda factors. because there many other factors than panda and penguin in humming bird. Pigeon Update is totally focused on Local Business. it is based how your site optimized for local search and it is performing etc . IF your is based on local business you can see the difference in ranking when pigeon updated released
No Hummingbird update is not as strong as Penguin & Panda update. In Penguin & Panda your all website ranking will destroy while not in hummingbird.
Apart from the little information about Pigeon, the rest of this post is almost totally wrong. Hummingbird is not a complete update that contains Penguin and Panda inside - the three are completely different algorithms that aim different ranking factors. And while Panda and Penguin are penalizing, Hummingbird is not. Hummingbird relates to better correlation between words and how search engines started understanding conversational searches better. When it was released a lot of sites were affected simply because Google rearranged the way they were ranked. But that is not a penalty, far from it.
