Does having videos on site helps in SEO?

Videos on web page makes your website opens slowly. And Google cannot read the information in video.

 

Google doesn't load the videos it just reads the code. And diversity of relevant content matters. Google guys are trying to operate from the point of view of common sense. And thats the best way to look at SEO too. From the point of view of common sense. And the common sense says that having diverse relevant content is good. And videos are very popular.

Personally, I don't think so. Video marketing via youtube might be an excellent channels for promoting but not on our own sites.

Adding video to your website will not directly help rankings in search engines, as far as what we have tested. What it will help for is to allow people to stay longer at your website, thereby improving the chances of getting enquiries or even sales.

 

I think I read somewhere that youtube is an extremely important part of link building and SEO. Having a identity on youtube shows diversity and the willingness to share information to help others!

It depends what you want to promote through your website........ For example if you promote your product through the video by just embedding it then it will not beneficial. But if you add video with text and description then it will be beneficial.
