These days people are putting more and more videos on their websites.....Does having videos on site helps in SEO?

 

If you're uploading the videos to your site it could help with traffic from video searches. Embedded videos won't help with video search. Adding video can help in both text searches and video searches giving you the possibility to get traffic from two different forms of search. The title and description of the video will make all of the difference in receiving traffic. That part has everything to do with SEO.

Another good thing about videos is if you let people embed the video on their sites. This may result in direct traffic.

Videos and images are crawled very less by the crawler so i don't think this would help. It may help to grab traffic sometimes but not always. Also it depends what type of videos are placed on the website.

 

It doesn't not directly affect your SEO, but it will help it visits and being seen. Upload them to YouTube, syndicate your RSS feeds for your vidoes and you can add good keyword rich descriptions that link back to your website.

 

Video will helps on generating traffic and many visitor like to watch video which directly improve your average time
However, it wouldnt actually help in SEO unless you are getting natural backlink due to the video

 

having video could do it spcially if this video is host in a socialvideo site and you did your work to let know people about your site

google loves links to videos. be sure your vids are taggged properly and titles are seo friendly..

 

video helps for seo Rank too but for that you have to add video at your own site , with a video site map ,

AS far as I am concerned neither videos nor images help much in SEO. With images you can optimize them with alt text but with videos I am not sure if it is done the same way. Search engine bots can only crawl text, therefore in order for the video or image to have any effect on SEO it needs to have text. On the other hand, it definitely serves as an entertaining aspect that can draw more attention and hence traffic.

 

Well video do help to get traffic it also help in your SEO .

 

Actually it's an good idea for TRAFFIC, and traffic means more natural link's BTW, so you can improve your SEO doing that...

But you will need good videos that's relevant to your content, try to link your website in the description (if you host in a external source) and put some credits in the end of the video (people can copy that video)

Yes, having videos on your site is a good idea. For 2 reasons.. 1 traffic, second, Google likes videos, because people like watching videos, plus it adds to diversity of content on your site. If you have not only text, but also IMAGES and VIDEOS related to your keyword, then your site seems more relevant up as it offers diversified content on the subject. Just make sure you have captions and alt text with your keyword in it.

 

maybe, but don't load it up of videos it may cause to slow down your site.

 

we will try to see the effect, we did not test it before ,but if there is video , the website will be slow .will affect the traffic.
