An SEO friend of mine told me that just putting google adsense onto your website actually increases traffic, or rather, google favours you because of the fact that you have those ads. It there truth in this? Has anyone noticed their search engine positioning go up after putting up google ads?
would you rather watch a movie with commercials running every 20 min or no commercial at all? A website without ads no matter how right targeted the ads are is more prestigious. It applies mostly for direct traffic tho.
No it doesn't, advertising department is separate from search results department as stated by Matt Cutts. In my experience, putting ads up on a site can potentially decrease your traffic. If your site hasn't proven it's worthiness to search engines, you could be suspected as a made for adsense site.
Probably in the early days it did help. The only thing really nice about adsense is that you may generate some extra income on the side for nothing.
I would like to nominate this as the dumbest question of 2012. Though, I know there will be a new idiot next week post something even dumber, so far this is the dumbest...
