Personally, I don't care whether you have ads or not. You will still be treated the same as every other submission received. The only exception to this is if your site is MFA.
Yes directories will review a submission and if the submitted site is an MFA site it will/should be rejected If the submission has ads that are relevant than that is another issue entirely, and should be evaluated and will likely be approved
I like to approve sites that are a company based, large or small, when I see Google ads, it's an indecation that it has a purpose other than what i'm lead to believe, so for the most part if the site was submitted for free in my directory, then there is a good chance that it wont be admitted.
If I open a site for review and the ads dominate the page then there's a very strong possibility that the site will not be listed, same goes for the sites that try to make ads look like navigation. However sites cost money to run so we do accept sites with ads if it is done sensibly. I don't like business sites with Ads on because I have to wonder how long it will be before the site becomes a dead link. I assume a business site with Yahoo/Google ads is failing in their business venture.
All sites get a fair review, but too many ads on the front page will throw a red up for me. I do not mind sites which post 3rd party ads. What will get a site rejected by me is if the site has scraped articles for content with 3rd party ads. Another red flag is that the site serves no other purpose except to draw attention to 3rd party ads. If a site has good information, a way to contact it's owner via email or contact form it will get points and better consideration even with 3rd party ads. These sites are few and far between though for my experience.
how many is too many?... im afraid to show my site cause all of it is red flag by your standards i think...but for what its worth my content is unique...
I know that GA terms say no more than 3 blocks per page, but the type of block used makes all the difference. I have seen some really good sites that included 3rd party ads almost seamlessly, these are tasteful and not distracting to the sites theme and content. On the other hand, I have seen 2 or 3 large square sections devoted to 3rd party ads. These do not pass the test for my directory. Basically, if the ads get my attention first, they are MFA plain and simple. You have to admit that any site that goes out of it's way to place ads in those spots of a page which are dead center, is hoping you will click those ads. That's MFA in my opinion. Now to answer your question, 1 or 2 small ads is all any site needs unless the focus of the site is purely for MFA income.
Sometimes 1 is too many... I didn't aproove such website and it was related to disabilities. I found it totally unfair to make money from ads on such kind of website.
cool man...thanks a lot... God i feel so MFA... ...cause my only objective was a good resource and revenue form google ads... anyways thanks...ill apply your some of your standards...
