Does having a blog under a "sub folder" bad?

    My blog is located at http://www.michaelaulia.com/blogs and not at http://www.michaelaulia.com itself..

    Is this bad from ranking/SEO point of view?

    For example my Alexa Ranking is quite low (I think because you can't measure a sub folder of a domain)

    What do you guys think?

    I'm not into moving my blog to the root, because I'll lose all the search engines ranking and linkages.. :(

    So if I enter michaelaulia.com to get the Alexa ranking, my blog and other sub folders will be taken into account for the rank calculation?
