Yes they do, but to get pages indexed you should work to obtain inbound links to your home page and other important pages on the site.

You are listed on Google however.

When you submit to directories or obtain links check the cache date (cache:http://example.com) for freshness to make sure you aren't waiting a long time, or wasting your time, trying to get links on the destination pages.

Plenty of ways to do it but you can gain control of the page (to some extent) by writing articles and using sites like squidoo that allow you to build pages and link back.

Note that squidoo pages require some work to get link juice out of them so you can also link to your site and squidoo on the article.

I suggest that you build articles that lead to more info and more comprehensive information on your site (change up the page on your site to stay away from duplicate content issues).

Blog comments, forum sigs, beg, borrow, but dont steal :) links from related sites.

Write articles and then submit them to article directories.

Submit your site to hundreds of free directories.

I saw your other thread, you said you have 20 back links,

I think 20 back links are not enough at all, you need to build lots of back links.

You won't get any message. Don't waste your time submitting your URL to Google anyway.
Get a few quality backlinks (even top social bookmarking sites will do well) and your site will be indexed right away.

Get more links to your website, start by directory submission and there are alot for free, and why don't you add a link to your website in your signature here in DP ?
