Does Google see a blog update the same as content update?

As far as Google is concerned - does it rank an update to a blog the SAME as an update to the site itself i.e updated content?

ps: is there a tool to find out when a site was last updated?

    Hi,

I think blogs themselves are sites, too. :) Website Watcher would be a nice tool for this purpose.

    have a nice day,

your question is sort of confusing.. your site is your blog?

if not, it is because an update to your blog is different with the update on your site because blog is a different site itself

Any change in the content of a site or blog... is definitely considered as an update. I wonder why you think it to be any different for blogs?
