Hey, I have just started in the SEO world but have tried to do many sites now. I have noticed that if you search for your website on google like "yourwebsite.com" , and if ur site is the first to show up on the listings and if your domain name on that result is bolded, then google likes ur site and its SEOable. But if you search for your site "website.com" and you dont see ur result within the first 2 results or if your domain is not bolded, then google doesnt like your site, or has banned it from geting on top. This is just my opinion from my observations. Anyone else notice this?

Can't agree that its because Google likes your site
In my experience this is a result of your site's page rank which, as a new site is easily overtaken by an established site that may be linking to yours (hence it appearing on a search for your domain.

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=html4myspace.com thats one of my sites, html4myspace.com , the site's homepage comes up when i search for just html4myspace but when i search for "html4myspace.com", i dont see my homepage on there but i see some of my supplemental internal pages. then i have sites which are like pr3 but predicted pr1, like myspaceobsessed.com which comes up first when i search for "myspaceobsessed.com" even though i think other sites with better pr are linking to it. another site, onlymyspace.net comes up first on google even though the homepage doesnt even have the text in there with the link on it. I think if your site comes within the first 5 results when u search in this format: "website.com", AND google shows the site domain in bold then google likes it. another one of my sites, wowlayouts.com. when i search that, i see it like on 2nd page of google or something but domain isnt bold and im not geting any traffic from google from it hence my many tries of seoing it and even though its predicted pr5.

    any other opinions?

When you search for html4myspace.com you are finding all pages that either say html4myspace.com on them or have a load of backlinks with html4myspace.com as the anchor text.

If your page has neither its not going to show up.

well then why wont the link be bolded when its showing on like page 3 or something? im using the exact term on the domain on the search but the domain is not bolded on these sites but are bolded on the ones which are within first couple reults when u search for the site. why arent they bolded then?

seobrien is right, new site is offen overtaken by an established site, So, you cannot judge that google like your site or not.

I think google bolds each occurrence of a search term found.

That is what I could make out of it.

I searched for linkspub.com and the site came up as the first one and the url was bold.

But it was also bold everywhere on the page where I saw linkspub.com.
