Does google search generate much revenue at all?

I have received useful suggestions earlier and many of the posts are very informative. Hoping to get some help here..

My blog is 45 days old. I have implemented adsense's components at various spots.

    herez my observation
Adworks, Adsense and firefox referrals generated me 0.00 :( I would like to know your experience.

The ratio of search revenue vs ads revenue is 2:100. Today I received a click which got me $0.05. I am wondering..is it even worth?

I have changed the search box in its current position today. Just experimenting.

Any suggestions on increasing the adsense revenue. I currently average $1 a day...but thats after a lot of link exchanges and postings on message boards.

    Thanks

I live (well) of my adsense income. The key is traffic volume. $0.05 is, well $0.05, but make 10,000 of those a day and you got $500. I dont understand how you can expect to make money from 1 blog after 45 days. Especially if its your first venture into this market.

I've been doing web professionally for 2 years, after that I studied computer science and it still took my first site over 1 year to become profitable. And it was real site, not a blog.

Dont expect adsense/whatever to just "hand you over" money. You need to work hard just as in any other market. Provide value to your visitors and they'll come back, with friends.

Worry about the blog not the money. Gain traffic and the money will come and people will click.
My referals have gained me 9 conversions and 50 cents lol but I don't care cause people out there are maybe using the products that they found at my site. And i agree 45 days is quite young to be expecting too much.

Guys, Did I sound disappointed in my comment earlier? I am not disappointed one bit. Nope not at all. For a beginner, I am doing well and I am aware of that...based on many comments posted by fellow DP members.

Nope...I do not expect adsense to "hand over money"

I am in the process of exploring things regarding adsense and I am only trying to gather the DP members experiences and benefit out of it.

I am only trying to understand how the adsense components perform when compared to each other.

Coming back to my original question. I would like to understand the revenue generation pattern of adworks, adsense and firefox referral and google search.

    Thanks for your suggestion.

Kind of gave you my point.
Firefox can give you mucho revenue if your website is properly configured to it. Although fire fox clicks go from 50cents to 1$.
Adwords and Adsense both take time for people to give you money. Everything takes time, generate more traffic and more clicks will come.
Don't expect much from search revenue, it's worth it if you count for the help it gives to the people using it not for the amount your making from it.
So yes I would say it is worth it, I mean 5 cents is more then 0.

Great Point...I think its better to start with more then one blog or website when starting off with adsense like myself...Like out my 5 sites some preform some dont so when u have more then one odds are better. Since two sites earn 3 sites dont, so better then having one site make zero and thiers nothing to back it up...Just my thoughts

Ok, revenue gaining hints (this is 2½ years of experience boiled into 5 lines, so theres plenty of "magic" you will have to work out for yourself).

    1) Link units. Can become a real jackpot if used correctly. Use them for "searchers", people that clicking every link in new windows looking for the best deal etc. I use them on some travel sites where people are looking for the best prices and I make more of one hidden away linkunit than I make of the rest of the site.

    2) Blend in / blend out. I go with Blend in all the way. I dont want my sites to look like I'm a crackwhore in dire need of money.

    3) Referals. Dont use it if you're greedy. Use it because you love firefox. Picasa? Bah. My love for Google isnt soo great that I'll freely promote random program for $0.25 signup. I say it's a rippoff really. Just from the 10 / month firefox referals I make from one site in my network I'd say google make 100 bucks / month or more. Remember they get 10 cent or something per EVERY search made on google.com in average. That seach box up there to the right is golden ...

    4) Affiliate programs - use them for returning visitors, people that are really reading your material. People that drop in from the SERPS for a quick peak usually leave your site if they dont immediatly find something intersting. Help them do that with adsense. But for the people that stay, you can always pitch a product.

    5) Google search. Unless you have massive traffic and some kind of portal I fail to see the use. I've tried it, but didnt like the fact that it took my visitors away. Nowadays I run my own search and just display normal adsense with it.

Hope this answers your original question. And remember. Dont focus to much on making top dollars with few visitors. Focus on getting top vistors and the top dollars will follow.

To be honest, $1 is not bad for a blog.

Google search is decent, I myself have gotten probably about 30 cents a day from it, better using it then not, also helps people get around your site easier.
