Does Google recognise signature links?

Does Google/other search engines recognise signature links in forums? And how do they it treat them?

 

Yes. All search engines see and index backlinks in forums or any other pages. As i told, Google and other search engines index signature backlinks and these links will be counted as links for your website.

 

they are not all that in terms of value but they cvount

 

as I know some forum has put nofollow on signature,.. and google doesn't count as a back link

They do count, but the value is severely watered down.

 

Yes forum signature links are valuable .... in SEO but they should not be nofollow ...

Yes it does count, I'm waiting to get up to 10 posts to throw my links in my sig! I checked my Analytics account and the backlinks from Forums/Message boards appear as a Referral Link.

 

It is not that they don't count it is the fact they do not pass pr juice if they are no follow. Whuch doesn't mean squat they are still valued.

 

Almost all links that can be posted not by site author but by any other user (blog comments, forum links including signatures, etc etc) don't work as as good as links in author's content (blog post, for example) even if they are on the same page.

I don't believe google recognizes link if it is part of body or signature, and if site is forum or blog. All google see is html page and any link on it will be taken into consideration.

 

Forum signature count in Goolge and other search engine, but the signature need to be dofollow. You can see that when you check your Google webmaster tools.

 

When Google Bots Crawl finds a URL then it look for an attribute dofollow, nodofollow.
dofollow = The URL is reliable source and not spam.
nodofollow = URL is unknown, no guarantee, don't vote for this website, unreliable.

 

Even Google does recognize signature links but they are not that powerful as it were before. Most of links that considered as "easily manipulation" is being devalued all the times. Only quality editorial links will be given the weights.

 

Sure ,it's a kind of backlinks . If the forum you link from has a high PR, it will benifit your website's PR a lot.
