If i put the same content on blogger, squidoo, weebly etc. Is that treated as dual content? Because than you need to write awful lot of content for a few links...

I think you may get penalized for that as Google will see you as getting links from duplicate sites. Backlinks from sites with duplicate content is fine, but backlinks from duplicate sites no.

Yes there is no problem with duplicate content on more sites, for example one of white hat methods is article submission-you submit an article with your backlinks on 1000 article sites and that's it.

Don't take risks, avoid it. Just do a little bit change in your article, it will keep you away from duplicacy then post it.

Well, i dont think that google is going to penalized for off page optimization.
Just think for a while, if i have submitted your content to 1000 articles articles directories will u get penalized?

Long back this is what happened to me. One of my competitor submitted my site to porn sites. He just spammed my url by submitted to all scrap sites... In this case you are not going to penalized. Google will not consider such kind of links.

I don't see it as a problem. after all if someone publishes your article on their site from ezinearticle.com etc then why would you be punished?

There is no problem at all with doing this, I would not post the same article to more than about 15 different places. I have been doing it for years.

It's not a penalty, it's a filter. If you've put exactly the same content on different sites, all the instances of it won't show up for relevant searches, as google doesn't want to show a results page of identical listings. Your site won't be penalised, but it may not be the listing that shows up for that search.
