I read in another forum that Google does not like seeing too many affiliate links on a website? Is this true? Even if the content is legit and provides something valuable to readers?
As far as I know, Google is not penalizing for affiliate links. As long as you don't put TOO many your fine.
Thats the big question...how much is too much? I wish Google we come out and just debunk the Google myths but that would make it too easy for spammers to manipulate.
3 per page is the maximum and this includes the side bar so if you have one in the sidebar, header or footer and two in your content you'll be fine. Whether your readers will be impressed is another matter - sites that look like they are purely online for advertising will never be fully appreciated by the reader.
At the a4u expo in London last week Pierre Far from Google said that they don't dislike affiliate sites, but if your site doesn't add any value you're not going to rank. That's why a lot of affiliate sites struggle, they don't add anything that the original site doesn't offer so why would Google rank it?
The main problem is with affiliate sites just using the manufacturers description. I've noticed with my site that I'm ranking on the first page of Google for some of my product reviews and all I do is make them unique. I look for customer reviews and integrate them into a unique article. It's not hard to do at all, but then it's not as easy as copying and pasting a manufacturer description. If it's not unique why would it rank?
I have a coupon site only with affiliate links with it. I make more then 1000$ most user coming from Google. So the answer to your question is: no.
True, that is why most create portal is useable content, and network love these type of affiliates. More work but more rewarding.
I think too many links might not work for anyone (not even the site owner). It is usually better to choose fewer, but concentrate on good quality, content related affiliates.
Google automatically remove there ads/page, if it is more than 3...People are using infolinks that places more 8-10 links/post so my answer is "NO"
You don't want too many affiliate links in your ad no way! Understand this more is less! If you want to make more money from your website focus on one call to action! Test, Test Test. and you will see for yourself! The less affiliate links you have the more money you will make!
"G" does not appreciate blatant affiliate links. You would be much further ahead if you cloaked them as well as not making them obvious by using too many on a single page.
