If google finds that a site is hosted on a server with hundreds of other sites, will they rank that site lower on a search result? Is there any evidence of this happening?
No. If it did, everyone would have to host their sites on dedicates servers which is too expensive for most people. Google is after spam sites, scraped sites, duplicate content, MAF sites and illegal sites. The rest are all fair game for the ranking game. One stands true: Popular sites get the traffic. Create a new TMZ and you're set for life.
Ok thanks. I wasn't sure if google considered a site on a dedicated server as a more credible site for content.
In essence it seems like most people believe that Google is actually harvesting information from people servers that is actually untrue 100%. Why would Google want to access someone's server and find out how many websites they have on their server anyway it's simply just doesn't make sense. If your listening to people and followers of Google.com that's obvious. In actuality whY would google.com want to know how many websites you have a server? I know people with the least thousand domains and websites on one server but there is a secret if you're thinking about optimizing your search engine webpages for Google's algorithm then it can be done. It doesn't matter how many websites you have a server this is a secret weapon or secret sauce that most web designers or search engine optimizers are trying to figure out.
I believe you can buy an IP Although if you're a search engine optimizer. The definition of having more than 100 to 1000 websites on is my IP address is what servers are made for us to host multiple websites think about it it's the birth of search engine optimization . The bottom line is this whoever said that Google looks for websites and gives more relevancy to websites that are hosted on different IP addresses. This may be true for traffic but not chew for natural indexing on search engines traffic as a result of multiple IP addresses being listed on different web applications. Green lights kudos anyone
I don't think that this is the case. Google would penalize your site if you are accepting paid posting.
I don't think that google will penalize your site if it was in a shared server unless & until there is not a bad neighborhood. Definitely google give preference to these websites who are hosted in dedicated server becoz they r fast, server response time is less & they have no chance to create a bad neighborhood.
I guess to imagine this is a very ludicrous form post because any person in his right mind would even think that Google would want to access this server to find out how many will web links or websites that are on the server has to be insane. It's quite honest that the person who wrote this blog form post is not getting traffic into their website because if they were they wouldn't have suggested that Google Yahoo and MSN is looking for websites that are on their servers that kills the search engine ranks and the traffic applications. I can't believe that Google would penalize your site because you're running multiple domains of it's server. Hence the fact should be working on your content your blog for updates articles at WordPress applications does Web 2.0 should help your increase your page rank in your traffic into your source reference database. Most people that have databases believing Google actually goes in there and crawls the whole server or network. Not even Google would one do that think about it to you logically no search engine would want to do that anyway just to look for stuff that I do. remember search engines are not human robots are meant to do one can crawl and index all website that's on the search engines not go in the servers and crawl the entire server looking for stuff that doesn't want. Doesn't matter if you have a Linux server or Windows server or any kind of server available on the net Google and Yahoo only focus on one thing sending out their robots to crawl relevant content from articles linked directories and links that are relevant to their search criteria articles press releases and things like that.
No chance . All most site r in shred hosting . In this everything is shared bu not effecting the traffic
Shared hosting is nothing to be scared of. But you should be aware that there may be sites with "red" reputation, like gambling, adult and so on.
Well they do not penalize sites on shared servers. Millions of sites are in shared servers including mine and I have not got penalized for being on a shared server.
Google do not penalize your site just only because your sites are using a shared server. But Google do penalize some domains and some IPs regionally.
The only time Google will penalize a site for being on a shared server, is if your site is interlinking with other sites on that same server/IP address. Then google can look at it as a possible link farm.
seems like a really stuck on this issue about Google penalizing websites were hosted servers it's a totally erratic that anyone would even think that the issue would be related . Probably recommended that you only see this as a reasonable cause for for non-relevance this traffic is not coming in your websites or your web search metadata is probably an idea screwed up
Shared servers are just as fine as dedicated servers. Every sites IP is different, and this is what Google looks at, not the servers IP. If Google did, 95% of sites would be penalized.
