Does google penalize domain names that are too long?

    There's no issues with lengthy domain name until you over stuffs with keywords. That act may raise problem for your website. And I am sure you are not gonna do that :)

    Just about all of the responses here miss the point.

    SEO-wise the issue isn't character length, but the number of keywords in the domain name. The more keywords you have i the domain name, the less weight each one receives. Treat the domain name like you would your title tag - put in only the important stuff and don't dilute it with crap of secondary importance. (Note, this is speculation but I don't see how a search engine would do it otherwise.)
