Does google pay both eCPM and eCPC? A got payed 1c buy I did not even have my first click yet! Is that possible?
I read google facs about this at that is what they have to say... From a publisher's perspective, the effective cost-per-thousand impressions (eCPM) is a useful way to compare revenue across different channels and advertising programs. It is calculated by dividing total earnings by the number of impressions in thousands. For example, if a publisher earned $180 from 45,000 impressions, the eCPM would equal $180/45, or $4.00. However, please keep in mind that eCPM is a reporting feature that does not represent the actual amount paid to a publisher. Are they trying to say that eCPM does not represent the ammount payed to a publisher?
Correct. CPM is a rate of pay. If your CPM rate is $2.00 and you show 2,000 impressions, you'll get $4.00. eCPM is a way of working out your typical rate of pay, but it's not a set rate -- just a way to show how much you tend to make for 1000 impressions. For example, if you had 100 impressions, 3 clicks and a total of $0.13, you'd have an eCPM of $1.30, meaning you would make $1.30 every 1,000 impressions if everything stayed the same and you got that many impressions. However, you've only earned $0.13, so you only get $0.13. eCPM is a good way to measure your various sites against each other. If I have one site with an eCPM of $5.00 and one with an eCPM of $1.10, I know I need to spend more time working on the $1.10 site, because something isn't right (bad CTR, maybe?). Make sense?
cpm is only rare for sites that have good epc(earnings per click), or possibly sites that are not desireable to advertisers. remember that adsense cpm can look like a single text ad that takes up the entire ad block, it doesn't have to be a banner.
