Does Google Notify website owners of Penalties and Bans, even -xx penalties, or its by common watch and analysis methodology by webmasters through which they come to know about any penalty ?
No. Google won’t tell you if your website gets banned. You will discover that your website is not found anywhere in Google Search result.
In google webmaster tools you get a message when they are going to ban you site. I know someone that got a message once. I don't think they notify for -xx penalties.
They do give warnings and chance to fix errors on your pages i have gotten a site ban/email explaining what the problem was (ads stopped showing) 2 weeks after fixing it was reviewed again and ads started showing up again
did a bit of googling on topic, and all It came up with, that they notify a few webmasters at webmaster tools about penalizing. Anyways what chios said, is good, if they notify, to get the errors corrected.
you can only check the details from the google webmaster tool. Anyway it's very easy to search whether your site was banned or penality.
Google doesn't send emails, etc. notifying that they have banned you. They cannot as they index millions of websites and they don't have everyone's email id.
I read on mattcutts blog, where he wrote about google notifying few webmasters who have verified their websites on webmaster tools, about penalty or Ban. Reason I think they have penalised, because for some keywords my site does not even features, where it was on first page, and for some it has gone back to 12-13th page of search. Some other people on forum are also experiencing google dance, So let it pacify it a bit and then see
I don't know about Ban notifications but I think google surely does not send any notification about the penalties.
Depends on the ban... If you are pushed down the SERP for something they don't find "natural" - no there will be NO notification. For a complete site ban, we've never had anything like that happen for any of our clients - so no experience here. I'm actually surprised to hear others say that they actually get some type of email.. Sounds odd to me.
If you get hacked and injected with malicious code/links then yes, if you get penalized or banned in the SERP's then no they don't.
