Does Google Notice Pattern Changes...

    What your referring to is updates. As long as your webpage has an update once every 17 days, your site is optimized for updates.

    I don't see a need for Google to put in the algorithms a formula that detects update patterns, but maybe they do. I'd say it's not the pattern that concerns Google, it's the lack of updates that makes a website less desirable. I say patterns are ok, but no updating is not.

    My guess is that, your answer is: Google likes updates. Any updating is good.

    Google takes a "lot" of notice with updates, there is tons of info about this in Google's patents for both Blog Search and regular Web Search such as:
