Hello Adwords experts Does google look for a call to action to determine your quality score I have an OK quality score, I think it should be great When you click on that little google magnifying glass, they say * Optimize your ad text to include your keyword and a call-to-action (such as purchase or sign up).
Hey The short answer is no. The longer answer is yes - in a round a bout kinda way. You see, Big G is telling you to include your ad group main keyword and a call to action. The keyword will be bolded when searchers see it = more people click your ad. The call to action - if effective = more people click your ad. The higher your CTR the better your QS - over time - so, yeah, in a weird kinda way - if done right - a call to action will increase your quality score. Cheers Stewart
I disagree. I SERIOUSLY think that an actual call to action word is taken into account in a small way when assigning quality score. I will publish findings soon when I have enough data but so far, ads that have the keyword but no "verb" words in the ad are showing a higher minimum CPC.
So, I think the same thing else they would not mention it up front. Now all we need is a list of approved ad word call to action words... I don't think they are all good......
I would be very interested in seeing the results of your findings - pm me when they are done? I've never even thought to make this hypothesis and test it to be honest... as it is quite ludicrous to suggest having a call to action will increase your Quality Score directly - and not as a result of increased CTR... in my opinion. Cheers Stewart PS - You also stated in your post - "ads that have the keyword but no "verb" words in the ad are showing a higher minimum CPC"... just activate the qualith score column in your adwords account and check your minimum bid - that is a much better indicator of QS than CPC.
I meant that the keyword had a "Great" QS in both instances but a different minimum CPC bid. 4 cents and 5 cents.
Ahhh I see what you mean... still, would be as kind to let me know what your results are with your testing? Cheers Stewart
Certainly, I will be posting a blog post. It's still a bit touch and go ATM though. If you have any data to contribute, it would be very much appreciated.
Yup, okay, I'm actually going to test this aswell on a new campaign... I'll let you know what the results are. Cheers Stewart
