I saw some good ranking blog has duplicate content from other original blog. For example, Blog A post an article taken from another blog, an cited clearly that this article was posted by Mr. XXX from Blog YYY. Does this help Blog A to get a better ranking since it always got more content compare to solely original content posted on itself? Thanks.

It indexes and shows in SERP's if you provide link to the original post.
And now days unfortunately many bloggers following only copy and paste.

Erm... if we provide the link back to the original post, will it helps to get a better ranking as that content is a duplicate instead of original idea? If it won't help, that means the blogger are doing this just to make their blog look content rich although not original written? Thanks.

I've ever heard some duplicate content blog can get higher rank than the original one. Due to it do more SEO than the original. So if you own the original content, you should do SEO also and update your content regualarly.

If the content is 100% duplicate content, it will lose it's love from google, but quoting a post every now and then, as it sounds was done in the example above, isn't going to garner any effect. Like many things, it's a question of the ratio of duplicate to original content.
