What do you guys think, Do you think google likes it when your link is sitewide(on every page) on another site or does it look artificial?

Google is not a human so it cannot like something. It just doesn't put sitewide value for your link. So you will get a single link value for ranking but for PR you will get little bit more ;) and if you host the link there is no problem.

Sitewide links does not hurt. It is like a single link value but still it has a bit more power -- since it's on all the pages it's easier to find.

yea as bouncer said sitewide link will just be counted as one link as its from the same domain so i think its a waste of time gettin site wide links to your site just to please google

sitewides increase the probability of your link being found. And if they were any penalties for sitewide or crosslinking, then major players' sites like jupitermedia wouldve been hit as all their sites are heavily crosslinked.
