True, similar experience here. Does index the duplicate content but much less value. Some guy copied my content the result is my site is still in top 5 but the duplicate page goes to page 5 in search results.
That is so unfair. Why doesn't google just look at who posted it first? And how can you protect your copyright when that happens? Only thing I can think of is sending an angry e-mail to the site that stole your content.
i think is no wise to have 2 the same post on your site. if you have, your pr will definitely drop one day.
Obviously no..may be initially..there is a chance of getting indexed but no completely..it definitely get traced..Update new fresh content..u doesn't need to do anything to get indexed..it will be done by themselves only..
I'll differ a bit here, 'cause I've tried it and it was fine. Google did index dupe content, but the only thing they do, is not to rank you higher.
I had a testing blog at my universities blogging system that was consistently ranking page #1 with straight copied content from other sites. It even outranked the sources! So in my experience copied content will be indexed and can place high in the SERPs, you just need to a really powerful domain...in my case this was a 25 year old EDU domain that had a PR of 9.
Google does index duplicate content. Some of my sites are 100% copy/paste and sometimes outrank the source sites, even if the source sites have better PR, older domain, more daily UV and backlinks.
yes.....duplicate content also index by google, but it will never get better value than original content when you consider PR issue.
