I was looking at a blog directory (blogtopsites.com) and noticed that most of the top 15 or so are blogspot sites. Does Google give them better search results because they are part of the google umbrella -Alex www.wslounge.com
The only relevant thing is the fact that you can receive good backlinks due to the top random navigation system. Maybe that's why the crawler can get you faster.
I actually think blogspot gets indexed WORSE than Wordpress blogs. This is because Wordpress (and many templates) are highly optimized to maximize SEO benefits. I started getting #1 on some keywords within a week of creating my Wordpress blog (containing almost no content at the time), but never even showed up in the first 5 pages for a temporary blogspot blog.
