I was checking out some links to my site and noticed that webmaster tools only showed part of the links to my site. I do a lot of forums use riddles and jokes with my keywords in my signature anchor text. Does anyone know; if google has a limit on the signature anchor text length ? Like if it only checks the first few words in the anchor text ? -
I've seen google list big phrases/anchors in the "words linking to your site" area of G webmaster tools. Whole sentences, but of course broken down one word at a time. Not sure about limit.
technically, there will be a limit - there's only so much database storage on the planet! Practically, probably not. Lengthy anchor texts tend to dilute their relevance score.
