It seems that I can't rank well with a WordPress website, no matter how hard I try. Do you think that Google hates WordPress (and other similar blog platforms) ? Especially after the Panda update ...
Unlike what most people will say on this topic, I strongly believe that Google currently does "hate" wordpress. I do hope/think that this will change, but it was a measure taken in order to diminish auto-blogs and MFA sites. I believe that due to Google's fight against auto-blogs and MFAs, it has been forced to put everyone in the same "bucket". ie. Since almost 100% of auto-blogs/MFAs are made using WP, Google seems to apply penalties to WP blogs (auto or non-auto). I manage over 100 sites, with 100% unique and quality content. Towards the end of July, 80% of my WP blogs got hit badly... My non-WP sites are still exactly where they are or higher. The content and linkbuilding was the same for all sites. My quality WP blogs with 15+ 100% unique posts were outranked by 2-page html sites with minimal content. You make up your mind.
Google does not hate wordpress, they just hate low quality duplicate content from those darn autoblogs on wordpress platform. If you provide quality wordpress sites, and build quality backlinks, you'll get where you need to be.
Like I said, nobody wants to accept that Google may be wrong... And I don't either. I am just stating some data that I have gathered. And yes, I am sure Laceygirl I wrote a lot of the content myself. With Panda Google tried to "clean" their results and get rid of all sites with low quality (or duplicate/scraped etc) content. But it's still a work in progress, and many quality sites have and will continue to suffer until they perfect their algorithm. In my (humble) opinion, they came up with some "tells" for low quality sites. I am not saying that every WP site will be penalized, but I am certain that it falls under one of those "tells".
hm, interesting points here. if this is really true I would recommend spycraft the following: simply change some of your badly hit WP sites to some other CMS sites or to simple html sites. if that changes the current rankings then we could say with a better accuracy that WP sites are not favored by Google.
i don't think so i think google like wordpress sites, but when it optimized in a good form, and also not using auto-blog
Google actually LOVES wordpress blogs. However, they don't like people using sketchy ways to rank their sites.
I'm talking especially about 1 WordPress website I had which was an affiliate website, I spent hours writing unique content and review about the products, hired authentic writers from Canda and USA, made unique pictures etc ... it used to get a lot of traffic from Google, but suddenly it stopped (like Google banned it) ... And I know that the content was quality as many people shared it, even on forums about the products ...
I dont think so Google hate any blog platform until it avoids Google policy, actually Google loves fresh content so if you own a fresh and original content than you can be at top of Google.
Google loves wordpress, you must be doing something wrong , make sure to install correct plugins for seo
