As the title says -- Does Google count links from .pdf files found on search results? It is often found that - most official, edu, gov sites have .pdf files coming up in search results. Also one can find that some sites are linked from those files/pages! Are this links valuable in regards to SERP/Domain Authority (getting reference from govt. or academic authorities) or Page Rank? Any advise with reasonable proof welcome. Cheers
Actually when I checked the backlink count of one website in Google by 'link:' operator, I was surprised to see that Google showing links from PDF!! So Google does count pdf links. But the pdf need to be published.
yep, there is even someone selling some automated software piece to submit to these doc sharing sites
Basically Google just reads the Metas of the page whether you linked the pdf file with it. It will crawl that!
