Hello All, Everyone know Google does not count nofollow links on backlinks. I am also agree with this point. But today I have seen Google count nofollow links on backlinks.. Follows are example: Search on Google link:www(dot)indiafloristonline(dot)com Then you can see the backlink from from this site jaagore.com/article/get-your-facts-right Can anyone tell about it. I am confuse about it. Please share your opinion about it. Help me on this.
When you see us here on DP talking about NoFollow links not counting, it is in relation to PageRank. A NoFollow rank is not considered when calculating PageRank. Any link, NoFollow or DoFollow, is indexed if Google finds it. NoFollow has no effect on whether or not Google indexes something in its search engine.
No follow links only gives you traffic but it won't count as a back link from Google. Sometimes Google display no follow links but those links are not valuable.
Matt Cutt on NoFollow Attribute “Let’s be absolutely clear about this: Links that use the rel=nofollow microformat do not pass PageRank and are not used in our ranking algorithms. This does not mean that the target URL will never be crawled. By adding a rel=nofollow to a link, you’re essentially removing a sign pointing to the restroom. Just because that sign is gone does not mean that Googlebot will never find the restroom. Using rel=nofollow is not a way to block crawling altogether – if you need to do that, then use the robots.txt file.â€
Google index no follow links, but not transfer any juice to main site. But in case of link building the mixture of do follow and no follow is really good for search engine point of view.
Yeah. You are all right guys. No follow links can give you traffic but will not count to be your sites backlink.
so i wanted to ask that if we dont go for nofollow links .. is there any problem for us ? i mean any disadvantage for NOT GOING FOR NO FOLLOW links ?
You can be passing up lots of good relevant traffic sources if you pass on all NoFollow links by default.
What Cutts is saying is that Google will NOT follow a link w/ rel="nofollow". But it does not stop them from indexing it if some OTHER link to that page is a FOLLOW link. By using rel="nofollow", you essentially remove a sign (NOTE he said "a" sign) to the restroom. But they can still find the restroom if they can find a different sign (FOLLOW link) pointing to it. And while robots.txt will prevent a page from being crawled, it will NOT prevent it from showing in the SERPs. If Google finds a bunch of inbound links to a page that is blocked by robots.txt, if they feel based on the link text that the blocked page is relevant to a search query, they may still show it. You can usually tell when this has happened because the SERP listing will have a title that doesn't match the <title> for the page (usually matches the search query), shows the URL, but the Google "snippet" is missing.
Thanks for sharing. First I was not making nofollow links because I thought that it doesnot count nofollow links so i thought it time wasting. Now i will be making nofollow links also.
No one knows for sure, except Google if no-follow links are counted, the suspicion is they are counted but not as much as do-follow
Studies have shown that no-follow links do have some value, but not as much as do-follows. However google will be suspicious if all your links are do-follow so it is important to diversify.
