Lets take my website for example: confessionhub.com, lets say i make that a link, will I still move up in google serps for my related keyword of "online confessions". or do I need to change the anchor text to my related keyword. might be a difficult question.
Nice site it can be something big, did you buy the script for it? And you will get better rankings but having proper anchor text will give you the best results.
Anchor text with targeted keywords use to work real well and are not as effective as they use to be. On my latest domain I decided not to target keyword in anchor and it sits on page one for 2 of my 3 targeted keywords. The other sites on page 2. Several other interesting keywords I did not target are all in the top 100 in google. I have also used my first name in blog comments and get a much higher approval rate thus less work for me. There is a few threads in other forums that indicate this too.
thanks mike jones. im almost on the first page for a few different keywords that get 5 million searches a month. I really hope it becomes something big, I paid 100 dollars for the site to be made from scratch. My developer is also adding comments and a couple of different categories. Do you think I could compete with Fmylife.com?
You're welcome. Well I say that you have a decent shot but it would take several months to even get anywhere near fmylife. You have a good concept and I personally always wanted an anonymous site like this. When formspring.me came out I was like man they really are taking my ideas now lol But I think that with proper backlinking and good site design not only will you get good return users but good SERPs. If you need some backlinking services I can do it for you, just PM me, just be warned that this is not the whitest hatted method
Hey, yea im gonna wait for these latest backlinks to index. Ill check out the results I get, and if im still not on the first page Ill definetly contact you.
If you get to choose you should go with a targeted anchor text link, but its still good to get non anchor text links.
