does google bot notice banner ads

    I did a link exchange with another site. Normally i ask them to put a text ad on there site for me. But instead they put a banner ad. Will googles bot actually see my link on there page if its in the form of a banner?

    Yes it will, but it doesn't help you anchor text wise obviously.

    It is advised to use text link to link up like disgust's first example. This will help Google and other search engines to better understand the link's target.
