Does Google Ban People, Or Just Accounts?

If one should engage in some grey/black hat behavior, or anything else that Google really, really doesn't like...will G ban a person or just their account, be it Adsense or Adwords?

From what I've heard, they ban the account, the person, the person's household, and all sites associated with the aforementioned.

It's like they drop a nuke on you, and everything within 100 miles gets irradiated. Your family members lose their accounts, all your sites get fried, and they come and kick your dog.

    Tis bad news.

I think it is more people than account because they ban the details of the people in the banned account, so if you try to sign up for another, you cannot.

    Wow. That's scary.

It would almost seem too easy to get someone banned for life by click-bombing your competitor. Or does Google have ways of preventing this from happening?

Yeah, that's something I can't understand from google. Let's say they won't count more than x clicks from the same IP but banning someone is plain stupid. Anyone can get a competitor banned that way, it's unlogic :(

They ban you and then they hire a few goons to rough you up in a back ally.

They ban people and their sites too. So if you sell those sites to other people then they have to request google to remove bans from it as they are new owner and follow their terms.

    DON.

Well that is certainly something new to me, how would we be able to find out which site aren't ban by Google before we purchased them?

I guess they would just ban the site.. not the whole account.
depends upon their mood though :p

    It can go both ways
If you are being banned for wrong ad placement and things like that, then your site gets banned
If you are being banned for invalid clicks, then the publisher gets banned
    Just my logical conclusion

They are smart and can figure out when others try to sabotage you. Simply put, just follow the rules or don't sign up. Smarter people have tried and smarter people have failed to fool Google.

They have such protection in place to protect the advertisers which are many of us on here. Not many of us really care for people who try to screw the system.

You can make long term money being honest. Yes, you can get quick money by cheating but it will bite you in the ass and than you have nothing left to steal from.

But I wonder why some websites can still go about with things and stuffs that are in violation with Google Adsense Policies. I have seen websites promoting PTC programs and with Google Ads.
